Remembering a Loved One – talk by Rev. Katie Jackson

The two bible readings were:

Reading: Psalm 46: 1 – 2

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.

Reading: Matthew 11: 28 – 30

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Holding Hope in the midst of grief by Rachel Firth

This reflection was shared at the Remembering a Loved One service at St. Katharine’s Church (Holt) on Sunday 31 October.  The following readings were read during the service linking to the reflection: Psalm 42 and Revelation 21: 1 – 5.  During the service the names of loved ones were read and a candle lit in their memory.
