Carols by Candlelight at St. Katharine’s Church recording of entire service
With choir, congregational carols, poems, bible readings and a Christmas Thought from Rachel Firth entitled “The Heart of Christmas” a lovely thoughtful service to enjoy listening to.
The bible readings during the service were as follows:
- The coming of Christ foretold from Isaiah 9:2 and 6 – 7
- The Angel Gabriel appears to Mary from Luke 1:26 – 38
- The birth of Jesus from Matthew 1: 18 – 25
- The shepherds come to the manger from Luke 2:8 – 20
- The mystery of the incarnation from John 1:1 – 14
We were immensely grateful to have Mike Daniels and his excellent choir Cantamini with us for a second year running. They added a musical treat of such calibre to our Carols by Candlelight last year that we hoped they would fit us in with their busy schedule again. Together with their organist Steven Hollas, Mike and the choir have undertaken exciting musical projects with a varied repertoire. They perform regularly in church services and other venues throughout the year.
